It’s the perfect graduation present, a brand new laptop. While all the cool trendy kids get MacBooks and all the boring kids get Dells, the rest of you might have ended up with a Sony Vaio. Today, however, Sony is recalling over 73,000 of them because of faulty wiring near the computer's hinge. One person has already been burned because of the glitch and there have been other reports of overheating.
Or if you want, you could just stick it out because now you have a perfect excuse for late papers. “Oh yeah sorry professor, but my laptop set fire to my report on 16th century communal market systems.” And when he starts laughing, show him this article.
Here are the affected models:
VGN-TZ100
VGN-TZ200
VGN-TZ300
VGN-TZ2000
Not all of the models may be affected, but contact Sony to find out for sure.
