It Might Be Time To Start The Vicky Triponey Timeline Of Terror Again
Wow, the boys over at Safeguard Old State are going to love to read this piece. Vicky Triponey, the much maligned former vice president of Student Affairs at Penn State, is one of two candidates vying for that same position at another PSU - Portland State University. I think I can see Gavin Keirans and Tom Shakely writing some letters of recommendation right now.

First let me just say that I apologize for anything bad I ever said about The Collegian. Because after reading this article from The Vanguard, Portland State University's student newspaper, I think everyone at The Collegian should get a Pulitzer. Or whatever the college equivalent is.

But what I can get out of the horribly written piece is that Vicky Triponey seems to think the media (aka, The Collegian, and The Lion) were out to get her. Yea, that's probably right.

In terms of The Lion, Triponey is quoted as saying "What I inherited was that they were using university money to bail out the radio station." Triponey then explains that The Lion was using tuition dollars rather than student activity fees to fund the station. Tom Shakely, your response...

But, Triponey doesn't only blame her usual punching bag, she also faults The Collegian, which I guess isn't as unbiased as I thought. When answering student questions about the USG-UPUA fiasco, Triponey says she had nothing to do with the proposal for the creation of UPUA. OK, fine, whatever. But the really interesting part is Triponey seems to say The Collegian knowingly reported false information.

"The minority number of students who did not feel student government needed change, many of whom were involved with the Collegian, began spreading false information, she said.
'It's all wrong,' Triponey said."

Wow.

So, Portland State University will be interviewing another candidate this Thursday for the open position. SOS, who do you think they should pick?
