An example of LARPers in their native habitat
Fear stalks the land! The Dark Hordes of NESCAC march towards the Memorial Steps! Two brave knights battle for control of a park near the Kingdom of Tuftonia! The sound of foam swords clashing rings out in the night air! Wait, wait wait -- foam swords? Surely. that can't be correct! If only I were joking, if only...
Those of you lucky enough to be walking down George Street yesterday around 7:30 PM were privileged to see two young men doing righteous battle in the park with foam swords. What exactly were they doing? Why, LARPing, of course! LARP, or live action roleplay, is every bit as ridiculous as it sounds. That being said, I sincerely hope that LARPing activity near Tufts exponentially increases. It's like someone's terrible fan fiction brought to life!
