Make Boston pay schools for City Councilor behavior!
In today's local tabloid "I'm on my last financial leg" rag, the Geraldo, Tufts OTR's favorite journalist Michele McPhee wrote about a Boston City Councilor who is calling on the city to fine local universities for the actions of a few punk students who were retarded rowdy and broke things after the Red Sox victory smashing.

City Hall blow-hard and councilor-is-large Michael Flaherty said college kids cause a lot of trouble in the city and that “local colleges and universities are already paying less than their fair share of city taxes.”

Ummm, NEWSFLASH: Without the private universities in this city, Boston would be reduced to tired relic of the Revolutionary Era, where people like Councilor Flaherty would actually have to get real jobs to make a living. In fact, and you don't need Tufts OTR to remind you of this, universities like Tufts, MIT, Harvard, (I could go on all day) make Boston what it is.

Sure, occasionally the admissions offices admit a few bad seeds. You can't fine the university for the actions of a handful of renegade students. Overall, and Councilor Flaherty knows this very well, universities bring a lot of money to this city.

Can we demand Councilor Flaherty be fined for being an idiot?
