Omega Phi Whaaat?

Omega Phi Whaaat?
We all know of the weird controversies the seem to follow around the three sororities on campus. Despite the fact that their mere presence is annoying, we've learned to snuggle up to the lettuce-eating, denim-selling blondes as a source of entertainment on the Hill.

But wait. Who the hell are Omega Phi Beta and Alpha Rho Lambda? You have to be kidding. While sifting through some events info at Tufts, this little gem popped up, advertising a step show by the OPB and ARL sororities? Whaaaaat?

With a little more research , it seems that they're unofficial Latina sororities that aren't recognized by the TCU. And, that it hasn't been the first time that a non-recognized sorority has tried to make a presence on campus.

Dear god. Not another one, please. Dear god.

They're Boston-area sororities, with members at a bunch of different colleges all in each chapter, since there aren't enough people on each campus to have a full chapter. There are several more...they're the multicultural fraternities and sororities. They used to be "Big-C" until this year when they were absorbed into IGC. Posted 11/05/2007 6:54 PMReply
