Apparently the sexism and garden-variety douchebaggery of the Phoenix's members extends to their paid pony-tailed bouncers, too. At a senior week party sans list, one pretty blonde made the mistake of asserting her right not to sleep with tools.
After the bouncer denied some of her friends entrance to the party, she blithely commented that "it wasn't like I was going to have sex with anyone in there anyway." This, of course, prompted a curt "f*ck you, this girl definitely isn't getting in" from Billy the Bouncer.
While she may not have had access to cheap vodka, she is free from herpes and regrets.

Stumble It

The Phoenix, and the other clubs, did at one time in the distant past resemble gentlemens clubs. For a time in the 60's and 70's, and even the 80's they became a refuge for closeted gay men and their friends. (sadly some of the graduate members still go there indulging the current trend of club homophobia in order to satisfy their own unmet needs at home)
The PSK thinks of itself as a liberal place but has instead become a pseudo fraternity trying to ape 1950's Animal House state frats that generally don't even exist anymore. Any pretense of intellectuality, civility, and manners is long gone.
The clubs have now become dangerous (date rape and other things just waiting to happen) and divisive institutions. Their time has come to an end. The University should simply forbid students to join, or ask Cambridge to enforce the laws against underage drinking. Posted 03/11/2008 10:44 AMReply
