For those of you out there who enjoy burning cannabis, toking up, lighting a blunt, smoking a bowl, and/or hitting the ganja, the following news may concern you.

About 580 pot plants were confiscated by narcotics officers and police in Ann Arbor’s own Washtenaw County, as well as Livingston County. Each plant produces about one pound. So consider almost 600 pounds of marijuana off the market--estimated at more than $500,000 on the street.

What does this mean for those of you on campus? A price increase from your local supplier might be on its way. It would be advisable to buy a large quantity now in case your dealer has not yet heard of this news. This is assuming that he is a business hippie who understands the concept of supply and demand. If not, you’ll just have to go sober for a few days. Ha, right. Well, you could always try sniffing glue or something.
