TCU Candidates Scoring Cheap Political Points? Never!

As of last week, the much famed Patti Points had been etched into history as an awesome achievement of TCU Senator/President-Soon-To-Be-Elect CJ Mourning. In fact, Patti Points was probably the best thing to come out of the senate all year, notwithstanding fellow Presidential candidate Duncan Pickard’s call to group masturbation.

Flash forward a couple of days, throw in a tight presidential race, and you’d think CJ were pushing for Yolanda King to manage the OSA.

“The candidates differed most on the issue of the newly reformed points system. Mourning, who pushed for the recent merger of Points Plus and Dining Dollars, lauded the change. Pickard and Sykes painted the move, which also separated points from meal plans in order to give students greater control over the amount of cash they put on their identification cards, as a step in the wrong direction.”
-Tufts Daily, 4/18/08

“Mourning has received criticism from the other presidential candidates for the change, which makes it so that students determine exactly how much JumboCash they put on their card. […] Detractors say the change will make it difficult for some students on financial aid to get JumboCash on their meal plans.”
-Tufts Daily, 4/22/08

At tonight’s debate, as seen above, the Patti Points heretics – CJ’s opponents – didn't stop. Duncan backed off his claims a bit, retreating to an “I don’t know the details” spiel, but Elton Sykes kept on the issue, and, in the process, accused CJ of instigating all-out class warfare at Tufts.

Yup, that's what's going on there -- can't pull the wool over his eyes...

CJ gave her answer last, and handed it to Elton and Duncan. She told those in attendance that the Daily is running a clarification on the front page of Wednesday’s paper. It seems all the Patti-bashing was wholly without merit.

Well there ya go. Go Patti!

ummm... hello? did you even watch that youTube??? Duncan totally came out on top!! CJ would have never had ANY of these problems if it weren't for her hoarding of this project and her failure to engage a broad range of stakeholders...

Duncan's the clear winner in this race...

@ Anonymous: I think Duncan lost his credibility when he jumped on the "I'm gonna bash CJ just because she's my opponent" train. Posted 04/23/2008 08:32 AMReply

my vote is for duncan. he is eloquent, confident, and a very qualified candidate.

he didn talk about things he didnt know about, I wouldn't call that jumping on the bash CJ train.

Elton did come out looking like the bad guy in this situation. Do you really think he called dining services or admissions at all? you would think he would know the correct answer if he did.
