Top 5 Must-Have iPhone Apps For Students

Top 5 Must-Have iPhone Apps For Students

Today is the day! The new 3G iPhone and the hotly anticipated 2.0 update are finally here, and life is finally complete (for us Apple addicts). Thank you, Mr. Steve Jobs.

As part of the new firmware update, Apple has introduced an official applications store that allows users to download new programs right onto their iPhones and iPod Touches.

Weeding through 150 applications to find the gems can be difficult, so I’m here to point college students in the right direction. Here’s a list of the top five must-download, free apps.

1. Remote – Developed internally at Apple, this amazing app allows you to control your iTunes via Wi-Fi from your iPod Touch or iPhone. So, when you bring a lady friend back to the dorm, you can simply set some slow jams to play before even entering your room. Watch in amazement as her pants just fly off.

2. Facebook and MySpace – Avoid the unnecessary hassle of navigating MySpace and Facebook through mobile Safari by downloading these free apps today. Having access at all times to all your Facebook/MySpace friends' profiles, photos and feeds is a must for every self-respecting social butterfly.

3. Pandora Radio – Customize your tunes on-the-fly and stream music using Pandora Radio right on your phone. Now, you’ll never have to sit in class for an hour+ listening to the same dull songs.

4. AIM – Pretty self-explanatory, really. If you are too broke to afford a laptop or just don’t want to whip it out when you’re on-the-go or in class, use this application.

5. iPint – Rated 17+ on iTunes music store, this application is a fun, mindless game that turns your iPod/iPhone into a Carling beer. At the very least, you'll amuse yourself for 20 minutes at the bars.
