Tufts to Have Founder of MTV Give a Lecture

Stop the presses and music videos! Founder of MTV Tom Freston will be coming to The Hill to speak during a Snyder Presidential Lecture on October 14. The event will be held in Balch Arena, and tickets are available at the Student Services Center.

Freston was the co-COO of the parent company Viacom at one point, but CEO Sumner Redstone had him replaced. I wonder if one of the dudes that came up with "I Want My MTV!" has any bad blood with the now (in my opinion) defunct network.

I really hope that he holds a Q&A session. Some questions to ask?

*How do you see the other networks developing and changing (like The N, Spike, and Comedy Central)?

*Did you really think the network would move away from it's music programming as much as it did?

*What do you say to loyal viewers who stop tuning in because of the current sh*tty programming?

*Does the programming really depend on feeding lines to all of the contestants on reality shows?

*Is Jesse Camp alive or dead?

*When will MTV ∞ be turned on?

Freston will speak about the trials and tribulations of starting a network no one believed in blahblahblah... But seriously, this looks interesting. Go. I'll be there.
