Tulane Steals Shimshack From Tufts

Sad news: everyone's favorite Econ professor, Jay Shimshack, announced yesterday that he will be leaving Tufts for Tulane this fall. Shimshack has a well-deserved rep as a fantastic teacher who manages to actually make statistics ... well, if not enjoyable, at least bearable, and environmental econ downright fun. (He won the UNITE award in 2007, which rewards "excellence in teaching and advising, concern for students' academic and personal growth, and the ability to convey a passion and enthusiasm for their field of study.") We'll be sad to see you go, Professor Shimshack, but best of luck at Tulane!

Very sad to see Shimshack go. I think he's the highest ratest econ professor at Tufts, at least in terms of teaching. Posted 05/03/2008 12:50 PMReply
