Ending 2008 With a Pop-Infused Bang: The Top 25 Billboard Music Hits of the Year In One Song

Ah, 2008; we barely knew ye, and soon, you shall be gone forever.

Gone, but not forgotten, of course. After all, 2008 was the year the United States saw its first black president elected (Go Obama!), the year the Second Great Depression hit and the year that a British girl happily proclaimed to the masses that she kissed a girl—and liked it.

From Coldplay’s pseudo-revival to Rihanna’s total dominance, 2008 saw plenty of memorable pop hits that pushed us to the dance floor one day and irked us the next from oversaturation.

And so, to honor these songs (or in case you missed any of them, DJ Earworm mashed up all of 2008’s best tunes into one cacophony of nonsense titled “United State of Pop 2008 (Viva La Pop).”

Enjoy!
