Minor League Yankee Goes Back To School, Gives Basketball A Shot

C.J. Henry is just being greedy.

The 22-year-old athlete is already signed by the New York Yankees and plays on their minor league team.

A dream come true for most young guys, no?

Well, apparently that’s not enough for Henry. The baseball player will enroll at the University of Memphis this fall to play… basketball?!

Henry played in high school and decided to return to the sport. As part of his contract, the Yankees will pay for the college and Henry plans on returning to the team after school ends next spring.

But that’s not all. The SportingNews.com reports on another twist in the story:

What makes Henry's decision particularly newsworthy is that he is the older brother of 6-6 small forward Xavier Henry, one of the top five players in the 2009 recruiting class.

And the younger Henry may just end up on the Tigers too.

Man, what did the Henrys’ mom drink when she was pregnant?

Those are some pretty impressive genes.
