Black Friday: Love It or Hate It

Black Friday: Love It or Hate It

It’s that time of year again: Thanksgiving, Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanza, and all the rest. But regardless of your nationality or religious beliefs, there is one day that comes this season that everyone either loves or hates: Black Friday.

The deals are great. It is a good day to get ALL of your holiday shopping done. If you’re done by today you feel great, you’ve got everyone’s gifts early and now you can relax and wait for your gifts. But is it really worth it?

If anyone went to a mall today you had to ask yourself that question. Sure, you may be able to save a few dollars by buying today, but is it worth fighting over that last sweater that your Aunt would love, trying to make your way through the crowd of psychotic power shoppers, and waiting in line for two hours in every store? For some it is worth it. To these people, shopping on Black Friday is like a sport; you either win or you lose. If you are like me though, it is not worth it. You stayed out of a five-mile radius of any mall and you enjoyed your day. And if you are like me, you’ll probably be at the mall on Christmas Eve wishing you had done your shopping much earlier.
