Deloitte & Touche Aids OSU and Virginia Tech
The well-known accounting and consulting firm Deloitte & Touche seeks to invest in academic programs for International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

The University Consortium will offer "intellectual and financial" support to OSU and Virginia Tech students involved in the accounting programs at both schools. IFRS is the new wave in accounting and the content in current textbooks does not cover the subject in depth. The program will include: drafting course materials, case studies, and support and guidance for lecturers.

The course models developed in this Consortium will be available for the use of other universities interested in the program.

Deloitte & Touche is known for its commitment to the academic community, the company has been involved in several efforts to support students in the field of accounting.

Business Week did a round-up of "The Best Places To Launch a Career" for 2007 and Deloitte & Touche topped the list. Take a look at the perks of working for the company here

This sounds like a great opportunity for OSU and Virgina Tech accounting students. The program will be an innovative paradigm for other universities to take note of.
