Don't Get Caught!

Don't Get Caught!
You think you're sooo smart, don't you? After finding that super secret hacker program (Limewire), endless amounts of free music is yours for the taking, right? You can trust Purdue not to tell the mean old RIAA, right? Right?

Wrong. Purdue's going to turn you in, and you're going to owe the mafiaa $750 per illegally downloaded song. Fortunately for you, there's an easy way for you to avoid the fines and the embarrassment of having to ask Daddy to bail you out. Even better, it requires no technical know-how. That means no firewalls, no port spoofing, and no reason to ask that creepy CS major down the hall for help. So how do you do it? How do you magically avoid detection?

Turn off file sharing! Go ahead and download as much as you want, but don't share anything. Purdue's not going to care about all of that inbound traffic, but they might just notice those 7000 songs you're sharing with the world.

Of course, you could just go the legal route and buy your music. Maybe it's worth a few extra dollars to avoid the headache.
