As you probably know, Schoolkids Records is no more.

The owner, Mike Phillips, used to own eight of these record stores. Now, he's down to two (one's in Raleigh, if you're enthusiastic enough to drive for 45 minutes). Phillips has been receiving a lot of emails from people expressing their condolences. His response?

"If everybody was so damned concerned," he responds, "they should have come in and bought a CD every once in a while."
