Maybe this was the original intent, who knows?
The two geniuses behind the crashing of the Michigan Progressive Party's website last year are being charged with serious crimes. Apparently there's a felony called "using a computer to commit a crime" which carries a penalty of four years jail time and a $5,000 fine. Really? That's a felony? Shit, I better delete that season of "The Wire" it just took me two weeks to download.
And really, why the hell did they think this was a good idea? Are you really going to risk jail to rig the MSA elections? That's like rigging the coin flip between me and my roommate as to whose turn it is to empty the dishwasher. I can think of two things student government has accomplished since I've been here, losing $20,000 throwing a Ludacris concert and planning a homecoming parade, neither of which I attended. Good work.
I doubt they'll go to jail, but I wouldn't want be around when the other inmates find out they're imprisoned for "committing a crime with a computer." I bet they wont give them time to explain it had nothing to do with Chris Hansen and "Dateline NBC."
