The Marine Protests Appear to Have Reached an Epilogue
Where'd you all go?

Though it surely has not reached a conclusion. The Marine Recruiting Center on Shattuck Avenue still stands, and Code Pink still meets in the front weekly to display their dismay.

But things have been winding down, as only a handful of protesters have been showing up as of recently. Both the city council and Code Pink have gone with the "we're anti-war, pro-troop" stance, after being called "godless commie pinkos" one too many times. (How exactly does protesting a Marine Center equate to associating with Communist governments, whose military spending as a percentage of total GDP was much higher than the United States'? Who knows.)

But what we do know is that conflicts have not resolved, but they have died down. Thank god for short attention spans.

Or perhaps, conflicts have moved elsewhere. Examine this entry from the CaliforniaPatriot blog, where UC Berkeley's Republican students seem to have been battling it out for months as to what a true conservative should feel about abortions.

And if that's the biggest conflict in Berkeley at the moment, we will all sleep quietly tonight.
