There was a mad hat convention last Friday in a local apartment near the Tang Health Center (huh huh...tang). And the hosts baked cupcakes!
Theme: basically wearing a hat you normally wouldn't. For some people that's a regular ass baseball cap. For others it was a sailor hat, a bicycle helmet, fake dreds, and a chicken.
Booze: Beautiful selection (in relative terms to other parties). Handles of Bacardi Silver Rum, Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum, Southern Comfort, Amaretto, Stella Artois, Bud Light.
Music: When it was audible, it was delightful and ironic. Including some of the good Britney Spears ("Toxic" and... "Toxic"), The Cure, and of course ChumbaWumba.
Highlights: The Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland was an excellent bartender. And random outbursts of dancing. Remember in the Charlie Brown Christmas, how all the Peanuts characters are dancing? Much akin to that, but much more tripping on each other.
Lowpoints: Died down pretty early, before 1 a.m., and someone yarfed in the toilet and forgot to clean the rim. At least it wasn't the sink.
Fun Factor: 4/5. The hats got funnier with each drink.
