A 29-year-old UC Davis Student Assistant allegedly used the internet to lure an 11-year-old from her home in Sacramento to his apartment in Davis. He is being charged with kidnapping and lewd acts on a child. The Davis Enterprise reports:
“Davis police Sgt. Scott Smith said Nogroski is suspected of luring the girl while posing as a 17-year-old boy on MySpace.com, an online meeting place. The two reportedly had been corresponding for several weeks.”
Two things: first of all, even if he was 17, 11 is still pretty young. Second, who is actually surprised: it involved MySpace (it's like the less sexual predatorish version of Facebook). If anything, the parents of the girl should be charged. They let an 11-year-old have a MySpace page in the first place. That’s just asking for sexual predators.
