Fresno Resident Graduates From Harvard With a 4.0 GPA, Now Works at Blockbuster

If you think graduating from an Ivy League school is difficult, imagine doing it with straight A’s.

Last spring, Brittney Lane, 22, accomplished this daunting task by graduating from Harvard with a perfect 4.0 – a feat that has only been achieved six times since the Ivy League university computerized its records in 1982.

Thanks to her four years of intensive studying, Brittney now holds a highly prestigious job at Blockbuster Video – until she gets into law school.

The FresnoBee reports:

Of her Harvard straight A's, Lane said: "It didn't seem very real at first."

Lane said her quest for the perfect report card began in her freshman year after she aced a difficult music studies paper and realized "I can do this." While playing Trivial Pursuit with a group of male dorm friends, she mentioned her goal.

"They basically said, 'You're out of your mind. Don't even try it,' “Lane said.

They also told her as a woman, it would be especially hard.

Wait – why would gender matter? Does the lack of a Y-chromosome make women incapable of perfection?

Doubt it.

The only thing that should matter is the mental welfare of the individual attempting such a task, because a person with such a thirst for self-inflicted pain is either mentally unsound or a superhuman living amongst a sea of slacking mere mortals.

Yeah -- definitely the latter.
