Intern Report: Public TV & Wannabe Celebs

Episode #1 of my Public Access summer internship: An interview with Jana

This is Jana, she sings every week at my small town public access station. Her show is one of the more popular ones on the lineup so expect the other blogs to get weirder and more random. Here is a quick profile of Jana:

Name- Jana
Last Name- None of your business
Email Address?- I don't own a computer
Favorite TV show?- I don't own a television
Hobbies?- Gardening and my show
Personable?- Not in the least, I hate being bothered

During my personal interview with her, Jana stated how hard it was to be a celebrity. Obviously nobody told her that her singing leaves something to be desired (To say the least) and that she is a nobody just like the rest of us. She told me that she could not wrap her mind around the stress Britney Spears goes through. She is always up on her Britney news because she is a subscriber to US Weekly (Yeah, she is about 80). Probably the funniest thing about her is the fact that she still used cassette tapes to backtrack her songs (Lipsyncing). I was told later that they only reason the station still has a cassette tape player is for her show, the ONLY reason!

The conversation took a dark turn when she told me how isolated she is. She said that she does not own a TV (Even though she has a TV show) or means of the Internet (So I'm not worried about her finding this) and if she died at her place, nobody would find her for days (In this heat? I'm sure it would be hours).

If you would like to find more information about Jana, unfortunately there is none. There is no website or toll free number to call. There is nothing short of coming down to the station and visiting me yourself.
