California’s got it all: surfing, great Mexican food, Hollywood, beaches, plastic surgery, and best of all, the University of California schools, which, best of all, have some hot hot ladies. It took a lot of discipline to narrow down the list, but somebody (like CollegeOTR) has got to do it. So here’s a peek at the Top 15 Hottest Celebrity UC Alums.

1) Bahar Soomekh was born in Tehran, but lucky for us, moved to Los Angeles at age four. After attending UC Santa Barbara, she played a pivotal role in the Academy Award winner, Crash, as the daughter of an Iranian shopkeeper.

2) Even as the blue mutant Mystique in X-Men, Rebecca Romijn looked hot. The Sports Illustrated model and UC Santa Cruz alum provided us with a couple of months of hopeful bliss in 2005 between her marriage to Full House’s John Stamos and her second marriage to Kangaroo Jack star Jerry O’Connell. What can we say? The woman likes bad actors.

3) You may have only seen her in made for Disney movies and Mr. Brooks, but you probably would like to see a little bit more of Danielle Panabaker, who attended UCLA.

4) Like Rebecca Romijn, we forgive Gwyneth Paltrow for her terrible taste in men (ahem Chris Martin ahem.) The UC Santa Barbara alum probably could’ve traded in on her mere good looks and Hollywood legacy, but she went to school first.

5) Briana Keilar of UC Berkeley makes CNN worth watching, even if it means running the risk of having to watch Anderson Cooper.

6) There’s just something about vampire movies, that no matter how bad they get, we still like them. Of course we probably mostly like Blade because of UC Berkeley alum Sanaa Lathan.

7) Why is Kim Gordon, a UCLA grad, on this list? Two words: Sonic Youth.

8) Fox News is, like, so not California. But Kimberly Guilfoyle anchor of Fox’s The Lineup is since she attended UC Davis.

9) We’d like to get united with Gabrielle Union. The Bring It On star, who attended UCLA, is definitely worth cheering for.

10) Yeah the whole Californian Playboy model deal is really clichéd. But UC Irvine’s Andrea Lowell is still mad hot.

11) At the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Natalie Coughlin became the first American female athlete in modern Olympic history to win six medals in one Olympics and to win a 100m backstroke gold in two consecutive Olympics. There are so many backstroke jokes to be made, but it will suffice to say, Coughlin attended UC Berkeley.

12) Ironically, actress Ally Walker appeared in a television show called Santa Barbara, though she attended UC Santa Cruz.

13) UC Santa Cruz alum Miranda July is a little bit of everything: musician, performance artist, writer, actress, film director... hot woman.

14) Remember that cute little girl from The Wonder Years, Danica McKellar? Well, she grew up, went to UCLA, and showed her hot self on VH1’s I Love the Millenium.

15) We wish that Girlfriends’ actress Golden Brooks, a UC Berkeley alum, would lend her girlfriend services to college students. Why, oh, why, did it get cancelled this year?
