UC Davis Students are Lucky We Don't Have a Hot Topic

Who would have ever guessed how dangerous the teenybopper crowd was? In a San Francisco mall on Monday a crowd waiting outside of it stormed the local Hot Topic signing with Twilight hottie Robert Pattinson. The Hot Topic store was located across the street from San Francisco State University; and no one had any clue about the insanity that would ensue afterwards. The event was meant for only 500 individuals, but obviously someone must have overlooked the fact that Twilight is one of the biggest book series next to Harry Potter, and the movie slated for release later this month will break box office records, and make Robert Pattinson the next big actor.

1000 people were waiting in line hours before the store even opened, and the event was so poorly organized that before anyone could comprehend what was happening, the natives had become restless and began storming the mall doors trying to get in. I guess you can only imagine what happened next: the event was cancelled indefinitely.

Who could have ever imagined how a lil book about vampires could rival Beatle Mania? Whoever cast Robert Pattinson to play the lead male role of Edward Cullen knew exactly what they were doing, because this guy isn’t even a star, and he already had 1000 teenagers (and probably some really creepy older people) waiting in 30 degree pouring rain just to meet him.

actually, a friend of mine went to it, and at 5 am, there was already a giant line of people, and around 5:30, a girl started RUNNING towards the entrance, and the crowd turned into a mosh pit, but a million times worse. one girl suffered an asthma attack, and one broke her nose because of the pushing and shoving, and there was only ONE security guard to keep the crowd down. people WERE able to buy the passes to get in, but hot topic made them return it after they cancelled the event, but so many people hung around the mall for the entire day that the actor guy decided to come. and my friend DID end up meeting him.

i cant believe all the commotion this caused. i mean, people came from HAWAII. be real people!
