The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the nominations for the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards today. The comedy 30 Rock received the most nominations with 17, but that's the only information I took away from the announcement.

The black-tie show will be televised live from the NOKIA Theatre in Los Angeles on Sept. 21, but I can assure you I won't be tuning in.

Don't get me wrong, I love TV. I just don't love watching long, drawn out, unoriginal award shows that have no relevance to my actual life. Best Actor, Best Director, Best Series, blah blah blah.

With this in mind, I present a list of awards college students might actually be interested in:

Favorite Fast Food Delivery Person

Yes, actors have the ability to make us laugh and cry. But those determined delivery guys have the ability to keep us full, no matter what time it is. And that is a talent we can all appreciate.

Walk of Shame Style Awards

It’s easy for celebrities, and even the average student, to look good when they have hours to get ready and plenty of clothes and makeup at their disposal. The real test of style is pulling off a look when all you have to work with is rumpled hair and an even more rumpled dress from last night.

Best dramatic Facebook status

Even the best tear-jerker in the theaters can’t compare with a truly over-the-top status. Beware of a lover scorned for your misdeeds will be exaggerated and broadcasted to the entire Internet community in one simple yet scarring sentence.

Most successful party director

Following a simple script can’t be that hard. But those who direct parties on college campuses must strategize carefully, making difficult decisions like what theme will yield the most scantily-clad girls and where to put the keg.

Lifetime Freeloader Award

It takes skill and commitment to pay as little as possible as often as possible in college. Be it a convincing performance to the parents for more money or finding the events that offer free food, some college students are just naturally gifted in the penny-pinching arts.
