Family Guy fans rejoice! Seth MacFarlane, the creator of Family Guy, has teamed up with Google to create a brand new animation series called “Seth MacFarlane’s Cavalcade of Cartoon Comedy," which will be available exclusively on the Internet.
So I bet you're wondering, where can I watch it? When can I watch it? Will it be as funny as Family Guy? And most importantly, will it be free? Allow me to quell your concerns by confirming that it is indeed free! In our world today, why wouldn't anything on the Internet be free? And if it isn't, it's guaranteed that there's a way to rip it anyway, right?
Well, there's a catch. MacFarlane and Google are doing something never been done before. The two-minute "Cavalcade" Webisodes will serve as an innovative form of media advertising. The advertising format will vary from "preroll" ads (TV-style commercials shown prior to watching the video) to banner ads placed at the bottom of the clip. Through its AdSense advertising system, Google will syndicate "Cavalcade" to thousands of websites known to have a predominantly young male audience. That answers where, but when will it be available?
"Cavalcade" is coming to a website near you in September 2008. Just in time for viewing during Fall classes. But make sure to use your laptops wisely, or it'll be no more "Cavalcade" for you.
