Victoria's Secret Being Sued For Thong Injury

Victoria's Secret Being Sued For Thong Injury

A woman from Los Angeles is suing Victoria's Secret, claiming one of their thongs injured her.

The woman said she was trying on the “low-rise v-string” thong when a piece of decoration flew off and struck her in the eye. She claimed her cornea got damaged and that she had to miss several days of work to get it treated.

Her attorney is classifying this incident as a “design error” and says that his client’s injury will affect her for the rest of her life.

Please! Her story does not sound plausible at all. A piece of decoration flew off and went into her eye? How close did that thong get to her face? Plus, you are not supposed to try on panties for hygienic purposes. Correct me if I’m wrong.

I’m sure Victoria’s Secret can compensate by giving her a free pair of panties (those things are expensive!). Forking over a large sum of money because the woman was most likely just careless is ludicrous. It’s not like she went blind so she should just suck it up and move on.

I'm not saying this is right or wrong. Just and FYI, The lawsuit does not ask for monetary compensation.
And if your eye was injured to the degree it will be permanately damaged, that's really not something to compensate someone with a pair of panties.

Let's wait to see what the complaints are.

1) She's actually suing over a thong injury
2) It's America

Of course she's going to ask for money. Probably some utterly ludicrous amount that she will in all likelihood win. Then your constitution will be amended to include protection from thong-based injuries as a fundamental right.

1. She's 52 and still wearing a thong - that thong must have been stretched pretty far to deflect a piece of metal at such a force to cause a permanent eye injury. Posted 06/18/2008 4:15 PMReply

Just saw her on MSNBC.

I think VS should sue her for wearing their thongs and giving them a big ole stretch!

Her age is not relevant. Her size is. Posted 06/19/2008 07:45 AMReply

The reason the attorney won't let VS examine the thong is because it is probably so stretched out there is nothing left to examine. Posted 06/19/2008 11:04 AMReply

have you seen the video of the actual thong! eew she claims to have only worn it once or twice, if thats true its totally obvious that it was too many sizes too small. It looks so stretched out that it never regained its shape back. So obviously it was bound to snap somewhere, thats just the risk you take squeezing in to an article of clothing thats way, way too small! Posted 06/19/2008 11:55 AMReply

The woman is 52. She should not be wearing thongs. She needs to accept the fact that she's not young anymore and just stick to granny panties. Posted 06/19/2008 12:02 PMReply

This is the video with attorney and client talking to the Today Show.

Both of their replies sound so staged. The attorney kept saying that this could have happened to anyone since VS chose to put metal decorative pieces on their underwear.

Bull****! VS has sold billions of pairs of underwear to women worldwide. A lot of their panties have metal pieces on them. It's simply for decoration. The client said that she has lots of underwear from VS, and I'm sure many of them are designed the same way. Such crap!

One funny thing though was when the attorney almost called his client Victoria. Ha-ha.

That woman does look like she could have stretched out the thong. I don't think she should hold VS liable. The design of that thong is so common! What is she doing wearing thongs anyway? This whole story is so ridiculous and over-the-top. Posted 06/19/2008 3:53 PMReply
