Jenny Barringer- University of Colorado- Track and Field
Barringer burst onto the national scene by winning the women’s 3,000-meter steeplechase at the 2007 AT&T USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Indianapolis. Despite a rough start (she was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at age 6), she has made her way to being the USA Outdoor Champion in Cross Country. So, yeah, I'm sure if you ask, she'll tell you she can go the extra mile.
           
Graham Biehl- San Diego Community College- Sailing
This adorable sailor has been making waves as a sailor since childhood, and eventually went on to lead his Point Loma High School team to a national championship. His equally illustrious partner, Stu McNay, graduated Yale with a degree in Architecture. Whoever said the cute, buff ones were dumb?

Corey Cogdell- Home Schooled in Alaska-Shooting
As a child, Corey was already a badassmuthaf*cker-- she was a toddler that could hit a spruce hen from 75 yards, and a tin can from 50-- with a shotgun. Growing up in the backwoods of Alaska, Cogdell's practiced in true wilderness. Now, 20, Corey is the underdog, having had to reset her entire way of thought to fit the shooting styles of the International world (who apparently have much difficult standards). She's not daunted, however-- she's one little firecracker.


Emily Cross- Harvard University- Fencing
Maybe they are as bad as they say they are in New York, because Emily Cross could surely kick-- or slice-- our asses. The senior from Harvard has been wowing international foilists from around the world with her agressive technique and sweet smile. After leading Harvard to some of their best seasons, she's also one 2 Junior World Championships (Under-20). Look for her to bring the Crimson out (well, hopefully not) at this year's olympics


Walter Dix- Florida State University- Track and Field
Sometimes it's all about the need for speed. Walter Dix knows this, as the FSU student is already a seven-time NCAA champion in the 2005 outdoor 100 m, 2006 indoor and outdoor 200 m, 2007 indoor 200 m, outdoor 100 m, 200 m, and 4x100 meter relay, as well as a 15-time All-American. Majoring in Social Science, this fast-paced well-built sprinter has been shattering records since high school. Mad props to whoever is able to slow him down enough to catch his eye.

Maurice Edu- University of Maryland- Soccer
They say Valley Girls are materialistic and worthless, but what about Valley Boys? They may be worthwhile if they're like Maurice Edu. Born in San Bernadino, Edu played for three years at Univeristy of Maryland before getting drafted to snowy Toronto. The snow, however, hasn't seemed to cool him down, as he was named MLS Rookie of the Year.

Alysia Johnson- University of California- Track and Field
Also hailing from NY (Queens), Alysia Johnson currently holds the 3rd fastest 800m time in collegiate history, then won the NCAA championship this year. She is also a theatre and performing arts major, so not only can she run damn hard, but she can entertain you too. Look for her to standout not just for her running, but for the signature flower she always has in her hair.

Rebecca Soni-USC- Swimming
This European Beauty, now a Junior at my USC has led USC to some of it's best meets in her time here. The Trojan recently won Silver at a world event, and is the two-time defending champion of the breaststoke, and is a hopeful to compete in Breastroke in China. After struggling with a heart surgery to fix an irregular beat (something she called "minor"), this little swimmer came back with a vengeance. Fight on, girl, Fight On.
