There are more than 100 authors appearing at the Ann Arbor Book Festival, and the line-up is riddled with literary heavy-hitters and up-and-comers -- including a fair number of people who would probably bore you to tears. Luckily most events are free, so there's not much of an investment if your choice ends up sucking...

The fest is actually going on this whole weekend, but Saturday's Street Fair is the main attraction. Some things to see:
  • Freelance journalist and bloggy badass Daniel Radosh will appear in two panels Saturday afternoon, at 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Radosh is promoting his new book about Ultimate Christian Wrestling, punk rock church and other Christian pop culture oddities, Rapture Ready!
  • Graphic novelist and panel wise-cracker Paul Hornschemeier will speak about his prolific young career.
  • The cute and talented kids at 826michigan will present one act plays based on Hemingway stories.
And some things to skip:
  • Professor Raymond McDaniel is the author of the National Poetry Series award-winning collection "Murder." He will be reading from it. Snore.
  • "Future of the Book Panel." Are we really this self-absorbed? Really?
  • "Pitch Panel," wherein you pay $10 to present your awesome new book idea to a panel of experts, who will gladly take your money and, depending on how low their blood sugar is or how badly they need a nap, they'll rip you a new one or stroke your ego. This one is at 5 p.m., so I predict a blood bath. Actually, maybe this isn't one to skip after all...
