See? He obviously likes the beach!
Barack Obama spoke at what his website calls “A Grassroots Rally in Santa Barbara” on Saturday, but apparently UCSB isn’t considered “grass” nor “roots”. That’s right, Obama opted to address the young people from Santa Barbara City College instead of our beloved UC. Sure, SBCC is back in session while UCSB won’t start until September 27, but it’s the principle of the thing!
Sure, we probably like you enough to drive or take the bus down to see you, but that’s no excuse for the insult to our grass and roots. Come on, Barack, we have grass! There’s some right by the lagoon! And as for roots, we, um, we rooted for our soccer team when they played against UCLA in the NCAA championship, and they totally won! This proves that whomever UCSB students root for achieves victory; do you really want to ignore that precedent, Mr.-Maybe-Future-President?

Stumble It
