North by Northwestern recently published what may quite possibly be the most comprehensive housing guide at this university. Possibly in the world.

Still a work in progress, it includes anonymous quotes, video interviews, pictures, and walking distances to campus hotspots. You can filter the map based on size, dining halls, and air-conditioning. In short, it's kind of amazing.

This is the kind of thing that North by Northwestern is becoming known for in my opinion - providing huge projects on kind of mundane things that are actually interesting and helpful (like this guide to all of the bathrooms on campus). If that's not a niche, I don't know what is. They should be getting paid by the university for this stuff.

With the freshmen housing applications due next Friday, this housing guide should be unbelievably helpful for them. It's almost a little too helpful...
