In the upcoming months for UNLV students will be intorduced to the exciting topic of:

Sex. 

Although many of the student here have probably lost their virginity during the course of high school the selected few who haven't now have the oppportunity to learn more about a subject that if done in high school maybe done through the course of college.  Although many of the kids here are of age and have probably seen sex in the movies, safe sex is something that is heard but not seen.  Starting Thursday students can learn how to be safe on campus, off campus and even in their cars.  With the enticing incentive of free condoms I'm pretty sure those who show up are going to be the one's that come for the condoms and leave before the speech.  With the economy the way it is right now forking over the four to six dollars (depending on the condom brand), is money that can be used for an array of things from bus money to the value menu at a restaurant.  Though I do encourage students to go, the informatiuon given at these events seem to have a tendency of being, oh let's say, a few years old and a little outdated.  When the video in the VCR seems like it's from the 90's, that's pretty much the que to leave.  Safe sex is important to stop things such as AIDS and STD's and should eb taken seriously.  On many campuses in the months coming up free STD testing is given at the health clinic and results are given within a month.  Few schools are even adopting the anonymous policy so you don't have to be embarassed when approaching the counter.
