Tonight after 24 years HYPE is bring The Lasciovious Costume Ball back to the UofC. What is it, you ask. Well in the 70s and 80s the ball was put on by Queer and Associates (the equivaelnt organization at the time) as a celebration of sexuality of every form and typle. But eventually the event canceled due to indecent exposure. Tonight in Ida Noyes at 8pm-11:30 2008 will give the infamous ball another shot.
Tonight's event is going to feature an array of entertainment and excitement with something that should appeal to everyone.
Here's the lineup (in no particular order)
Two Chicago DJ's shall be spinning:
Million $ Mano who flew like paper and got high like planes on tour with MIA: http://www.myspace.com/milliondollamano
Chaise Marcel: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=181987734
Yummy Thai food will be catered by Chant (at the very least this should appeal to most).
MODA will be presenting their Fall Fashion Show with colors and frills as diverse as the falling leaves I'm sure and the stage will be set as Rhythmic Bodies and Motions will be dancing the night away while Queer & Associates put on quite the drag show.
Dressin up is highly encouraged, apparently. Come in costume or come as yourself but come to showoff your sexuality. We'll see if kids in the 2000s can keep in their pouch better than in the 80s.
