Last week’s Museum Nights event got a little more attendees than usual due to some special events. First, the Grossology exhibit, which just opened at the Florida Museum of Natural History, was free this Thursday.

The exhibit features all sorts of gross cartoony interpretations of everything that goes on inside your body. You can enjoy crawling through a large intestine or making a giant dude burp. One of the more gross features is the ability to smell feet, armpits, bad breath and…wait for it…ass. It’s basically a themed arcade. Might not be worth the entrance fee but if you wait until next Museum Nights, you can get in for free. Go here for more information.

Next door at Harn Museum of of Art, the party was on in honor of John Lennon, whose birthday was Thursday. Aside from birthday cake, museum-goers enjoyed a performance by The Shoddy Beatles, a cover band made of two parts Morningbell and two parts Maxwell Edison. They did a drumless acoustic set of classic Beatles songs from the Harn balcony.

If you missed them, you might have seen their full rocking set on Friday night at Atlantic. They'll be playing next at Common Grounds on Dec. 6.

And if you want to check out the Grossology exhibit for free, you can swing by every Thursday from 5 pm to 9 pm. Open to everyone, free to UF students and there’s usually cheese or other hors d'oeuvres. Free art, free cheese.
