Outgoing Prez Stephen Joel Trachtenberg recently gave an interview to China's state-sponsored People's Daily Online English-language newspaper, also known as the world's bastion of free speech (sarcasm very much implied). Here are some highlights from what can only be described as a classic SJT conversation (this one with Asian reporter Yong Tang):

SJT: "I am making up a roster of people I'm going to pardon."
Yong: "Just like American President?"
SJT: "Yes, exactly!"
Yong: "Pardoned people will be very excited?"
SJT: "I hope so. I have never used this power before."

Yong: "How do you feel about title of most expensive university?"
SJT: "It's a great value."

Yong: "How do you compete with the other George[town]?"
SJT: "Actually, we don't."
