I Believe Wawa Is An Ojibwa Word Meaning "Effing Awesome!"

People from the eastern part of Pennsylvania (and people from New Jersey and Delaware and Maryland and Virginia) know that when it comes to convenience stores the only real place to go is Wawa. Sure stop in 7-11 if you absolutely need to but it's definitely not Wawa. And all you people from the western part of the state can just shut up about Sheetz because in all honesty the place sucks, have you checked out the roll they use to make your hoagie? Oooofa. So I think it's safe to say I love Wawa (and so disappointed that one is not the State College vicinity), and even though I didn't think it was possible, my love has grown exponentially with the discovery of their Hoagiefest website. It will BLOW your mind.

I always remember Wawa coming up with different slogans and sales pitches (The Rendelli anyone?), but this is by far my favorite. First of all, in a time of rising prices their Shorti's are all $2.99 (you don't need a Classic, fatty), plus it's called Hoagiefest for god's sake. Unlike "Arts Fest," I'll allow this. But check out the website for Hoagiefest, very reminiscent of The Beatles, no? And they have three Hoagiefest-related songs, which are available for download, and are effing awesome.

The songs (At The Hoagiefest, Turkey So Fine and Come On Down) are all done by Parry Gripp from the band Nerf Herder and they maintain the whole '60's vibe their going for in the campaign. It's just shocking to me how good and catchy the songs are. Seriously I'm not joking when I say I just sat here and listened to the three songs about four times each.

"Meatball, cheesesteak, Italian and turkey so fine/ Wawa's got the hoagies you want for $2.99"

Brilliant lyrics, brilliant!

So, top that Sheetz. Or, just keep putting a Z on the end of everything instead of an S (your "subz" Zuck). That'll work too.
