Tribune Editor Now University of Chicago VP

Ann Marie Lipinski has been with the Tribune for 30 and has even won a Pulitzer, but now she's moved on to a different challegen, vice president for civic engagement at the University of Chicago. What is "civic engagement" anyways? It sounds like something gay people do when they can't get legally engaged, but it's actually a way to figure out how to get U of C integreated into the surrounding community which it says it has a "bumpy" relationship with. Lipinski says her time as an editor will serve her well for the post:

"When you are an editor, you have foreign and you have Sports and you have Good Eating and Metro and Business," said Lipinski, 52. "How do you take all of those things and make them work in concert and advance some overall vision and strategic plans for the university? I love that it is broad and varied. That suits me."

Yeah combining "Good Eating" and "Sports" is just like integrating a college into it's community. I guess. (By the way, the way to integrate good eating and sports: hot dogs). Suck it Illinois, Chicago has a Pulitzer winning VP now!
