If it seemed like you were able to finish off your Girl Scout cookies in less time than it usually takes, it's not all in your head.
Apparently, due to the increasing costs of cookie ingredients, the Girl Scouts of the USA decided to shrink their cookie boxes by a centimeter, which means this year, you'll be getting less cookies for the same price! Did you think we wouldn't notice? I knew those little bitches couldn't be trusted.
Yumsugar.com reports:
According to the organization, the cost of flour rose by 30 percent, assorted cooking oils by 40 percent, and cocoa by at least 20 percent. The company felt this was the best method of dealing with increasing raw material prices. Alternatively, Girl Scouts could have used cheaper ingredients, or raised cookie prices from their current price of $3.50 per box.
I'm not gonna lie. This news is devastating to me. Because you know what? Tricking me into buying your slightly more expensive cookies is not nice and stifling America's need to be fat even by one centimeter is just unpatriotic.
Though to be fair, this is better than using cheaper ingredients. Then we would have to revoke their badge of deliciousness.
