Halloween In College Is Just Better On the West Coast, From UCSB to UCI

At any campus on Halloween some weird shit happens. It is first and foremost the best holiday because, for some reason, girls feel completely okay with wearing nothing and walking around town. But it is also the one night a year when everyone has a no-holds-bars attitude the whole time.

People get dressed up, drink up and **** up all night. Then the next morning everything is back to normal. I happen to think that the West Coast may do it better than anywhere else.

Not only do campuses up and down the coast go off (UC Santa Barbara and Chico State are ridiculous.) But L.A. and San Francisco put on some of the biggest raves of the year during Halloween.

The picture above is at Monster Massive. Seeing the dude with the green hair is a small fraction of the experience at this place.

One kid explained, “It is an area filled with 50,000 people that all love each other. The ground floor has like 15,000 people and the stadium seating is filled in every row. I sat in the middle row at the center and just watched, rolling out of my mind, and felt like I conducted a symphony with the people. It was the best.”

Needless to say, some “extracurricular” activity is happening at these Halloween raves but you can’t beat the experience. A huge Halloween party and there is a good probability you won’t die. What else can you ask for?

Halloween without cool temps, woodsmoke, leaves in red and gold and yellow and corn stalks and apples isn't Halloween, it's just a drunk party. We get those every night in the east. Posted 10/31/2008 12:15 PMReply
