Gator Party Related Groups: UF Sorority Girls are SO HOT Right Now!
The Gator (read: Greek) Party took 44 of the 47 Senate seats in last week’s election, and few were surprised by the group’s domination over the Progress (read: Everyone Else) Party.
Ironically, Yooni Li, a Kappa Alpha Theta who serves as the acting President of the (strangely homogenous) Gator Party, believes it was her party’s hard work and diversity that won the hearts of voters.
“I think our candidates reached out to a lot of different students,” Yi said to the Alligator.
If by different students, she means different addresses on Frat Row, then yeah, she’s right.
Some would argue that what we need is some real diversity in SG. Or at least an opposing party that wins more than three seats.
Maybe part of the problem is that the Progress Party has lowered its standards too much: Progress Party's chief counsel Sam Miorelli told the Alligator, "As far as I'm concerned, every seat that does not go to the Gator Party is a victory."
Hey, Sam, generally one seat isn't considered an exactly winning scenario.

You know those "We support so-and-so of the such-and-such party" banners that hang outside of sorority and fraternity houses? Those are actually my second favorite way to practice phonics and reading comprehension, and coincidentally, this past election, those banners mostly said: "The Gator Party."
Thanks for pointing out that the Progress Party won only 1 seat, not 3. Their failures are clear evidence of a 1-party SG. Posted 10/22/2007 3:00 PMReply
