According to several OTR tipsters, two of the police officers involved in the tasing incident have questionable reputations.

One student relayed this account to OTR:

"I go to UF and recognize the african-american cop. He pulled me over one night on my motor scooter because he was 'checking to see if I exceeded the weight limit.' Keep in mind that I weight about 140 lbs. I was not speeding, swerving, or driving excessivly slow and I had not used any drugs or alcohol. I think he wanted another Dui under his belt, and assumed that since I was out late on a college campus, I must have had something to drink. this doesnt serve the commonwealth, and when I saw him on youtube I was ecstatic that he got into trouble. He has been abusing his power, and its time for him to go down. Protecting who? While serving nothing but his ego."

Another OTR reader informed me of an incident in which Officer Mallo arrested a student for underage drinking at a TEP party. Apparently Mallo didn't take the arrest too seriously, stating "Just get a good lawyer and you'll get off." Mallo apparently went to UF to become a pharmacist but ended up dropping out to become a cop.

It makes sense that she didn't get a degree in such a quantitative field, seeing that she has trouble counting. In the police report for the TEP party, Mallo said there were more than 100 people there, when there was probably about 30.
