State Budget Passes, Sky and Tuition Don't Fall

State Budget Passes, Sky and Tuition Don't Fall

With many apologies for its belatedness.

It only took them three and a half months longer than it was supposed to, but the State Legislature finally passed a budget Tuesday. Though both Republicans and Democrats say there's still a lot to fix, for now the UW System has been largely spared from the chopping block and tuition hikes. Though the $159 million allotted for the UW System isn't quite the $185 they and the governor asked for, it's considerably better than the $68 million the Republicans wanted to give out.

Too bad you can't turn in your paper three months late and get credit the way legislators get paid without passing a budget.
