When sophomore, Zach Straus was given the opportunity to perform at CIW's annual Woodstock, he took advantage of his musical resources and quickly put together a band.

Daylight Fading took the 8:15 slot at Woodstock, just as daylight completely faded from CIW, setting a flawless mood.  Zach's lead vocals and acoustic guitar were accompanied by Bill Farber on the electric guitar, David Pastor on bass, and Sarah K on viola.  No instrument was unneeded.  Each person brought something to each song, beautifully syncing it all together.  In no way was it obvious that the band had just been thrown together days prior.  Zach's vocals were exceptional and reminiscent of Conor Oberst of Bright Eyes.

Speaking of Bright Eyes, Daylight Fading opened with "Another Traveling Song," followed by the Beatles' classic, "Octopus's Garden," Brand New's "The Quiet Things That No one Ever Knows," and Say it Ain't So," by Weezer.

Unfortunately, Daylight Fading may have only been a one time thing.  When asked about the Fate of the band, Zach said, "The year's ending soon, so it's going to be tough [to stay together].  Hopefully we'll get to play some more next year."  With any luck, however, we'll be hearing from Daylight Fading again next semester.
