As broke college students we often run into the yearly dilemma of trying to decide whether or not to fork out $30+ for a one-time use halloween costume.

What you may not realize, is that there are tons of costume options just sitting in your closet that involve little to no investment. Here are fives suggestions for D.I.Y. (do-it-yourself) costumes for October 31st:

Paris Hilton: She's been off the radar for a while, but now with her awful new reality show you can rock the Paris look once again.

Materials Needed: tight minidress or That's Hot written on tank with denim mini skirt, stuffed chiuaua dog in purse, oversized sunglasses, cell phone in hand, blonde wig, high heels; valley girl accent optional

Greek Goddess: Comfortable and easy to recreate; think 300 or Gladiator.

Materials Needed: white dress (or sheet that can be tied), gold ribbon to criss cross across front, fake leaves to create wreath for hair, gold lace up heels; curl or scrunch hair

Hula Girl: This outfit puts the last of your summer tan to good use!

Materials Needed: bikini top, grass skirt or green crepe paper to tuck into bathing suit bottoms, flower for behind ear, inexpensive flower lei, flip flops; use tanning lotion for an island glow.

School Girl:  A classic that never gets old.

Materials Needed: Plaid skirt, white collared shirt tied in knot, white knee high socks, black patent leather heels, pencil behind ear, apple for teacher; hair in pigtails

Pirate Wench:  Be Jack Sparrows saucy counterpart.

Materials Needed: white poufy blouse, black corset, lightweight white skirt or petticoat, knee high black leather boots, eye patch, skull scarf to tie around head; parrot on shoulder for extra effect.
