For some reason this hasnt been covered very much in Athens, but it really should be. Hadjii Hand, my favorite teacher at UGA, has created and stars in a new show on BET. The show is called "Sombodies" and premiered at 9 on Tuesday. It is the first scripted show ever on BET, and a UGA grad and employee created it (and wrote, produced it). That's HUGE. It is hilarious. Very unconventional, smart, and satirical, the show follows a black college student trying to make sense of his crazy life. It is easy to watch and relatable to people our age (especially African American college students).
Check out the show and his myspace page and let him know what you think of the show or anything else you're interested in. They also have done some filming in Athens, so if you're interested, he will probably post info on that. The address is: http://www.myspace.com/hadjiilab.
Either way it's awesome a young dude from UGA has put himself in the history books in such a cool way. He's a great guy that has given me invaluable advice. Check out his show and if you ever get a chance to talk with him do it. He will have you laughing your ass off-trust me.
