No Football, No Problem for UGA Students this Saturday

There's no football game this Saturday, but while your more boring friends head home, you can still have fun in Athens; and better yet, you can support a good cause while doing so. Nuci's space, a well-known local health and music non-profit, is holding two cool events this Saturday, October, 4th.

One of the events is their 8th anniverary party which is FREE. It starts at 6pm and will feature live music, as well as a silent auction. Luckily for us, they're auctioning off some pretty cool stuff, including gift certificates to local restaurants and signed rock memorabilia. You could win signed items from R.E.M., Widespread Panic, Gnarls Barkley, Drive-By-Truckers and more. At least stop by before heading downtown and pick up some cool stuff.

The second event is for those looking to work off some of the freshman 15 that have already started showing up. It is their 5th annual 5k race for suicide prevention, awareness, and community education. It's only $15 and you get a shirt, athletic bag, and entrance into the after-party. The  run is at 9 am on Saturday.

Nuci Space does a lot for the community and also provides a cheap place for bands to practice, so enjoy some of their festivities and give money to a good cause. For more info on any of their events call 706-227-1515 or visit their website:  www.nuci.org.
