Who would have thought that a debate of any type, let alone one involving politicians, would actually interest college students? Well love or hate Sarah Palin, she has somehow managed to make tonight’s VP debate the most buzzed about thing on campus. Students are trading in their rum and cokes for remote controls and preparing for what could be a debate to remember.

It’s not that surprising considering people can’t get enough of Palin and some of her comments lately; and who can forget that hilarious “stand up Chuck!” comment from Biden (the guy was in a wheelchair for those who don’t know the story). There is potential for this to be a huge train wreck. And we all love watching it go up in flames before crashing.

But is it more fun than a night downtown? While the $1 well drinks at Fahrenheit (until 10) are great, I think the debate is worth it. If it gets boring, do what I heard on the radio this morning: turn it into a drinking game. Every time the usual words are used (bailout, economy, bridge to nowhere) then you have to drink. If it’s anything like the first Presidential debate, they’ll use the same words over and over….and over. There’s potential for being blackout within the hour. Then you can head downtown for the usual Thursday night debauchery.

The VP debate could actually be interesting, and besides Sexy Sarah will look even better after a few beers.
