This recurring column begins with a restaurant perfect for taking someone out on a dressy date or sharing an excellent bottle of wine with friends. The Bread Company, located right next to The Canopy Club and Espresso Royale at the corner of Oregon and Goodwin Avenue, has become a local favorite, featuring excellent specials and a fine wine list.

The soft glow lighting and cafe feel make the dining room very inviting. An impressive list of fine wines can be a bit intimidating, but the waitstaff are more than helpful in choosing the right one for you, and the menu has suggestions for each dish. The house red went beautifully with the filet, which was doused in a mouth watering sauce and served with delicious rosemary red potatoes. The meal was over far too early for how excellent it was. Just before leaving we were greeted by the chef himself, who asked how our meal tasted. He was pleased with our response, of course.
