Illinois Quits Coke

Illinois Quits Coke
Living or functioning on-campus at the University of Illinois, one thing becomes abundantly clear: There is no shortage of Coke.  It's everywhere, and it's really easy to obtain; you can find it in your dorm room, the lecture halls, the Union, even the cafeterias.

It was hard times for the Pepsi fan, until now.

Pepsi beat out Coke for a contract putting Pepsi vending machines and pouring stations throughout the state. After 10 years of Coca-Cola rule, it looks like Illinois is now Pepsi's turf.

Like much political action and change, the switch was made because of money, as Pepsi is offering up about 50% of the revenue to the state and University for being, in effect, it's dealer.

But in quitting Coke, there will always be some withdrawl symptoms. It's supposed to be a matter of months before all of the Coke paraphernalia is replaced with Pepsi.

I'm think I'll keep a secret stash of Coke in my mini fridge, just in case the urge should ever hit me.
